She ventures alone through deep snow on unmarked trails in horrendous conditions, often with scant directions to quide her, on her trusty mare Birdie. One cannot help but be in total awe and admiration for this intrepid traveller, whose love for this area's savage beauty, and it's singular inhabitants, shine through her letters to her sister.
